About Keshavraj Mandir

Approximately 7 km away from Dapoli is a village named Aasud. This village is blessed with abundance of natural beauty. If we set off on the Dapoli – Harnai roadway, after 6 km we will come across a beautiful place called Aasud Baug. Turn right from here and after a 15 – 20 walk, you will come across this extremely beautiful place called Keshavraj Mandir (Vishnu temple).

While walking towards the temple, you will come across a small bridge. This is the very bridge that gained immortality by being mentioned in one of the most famous Marathi novels, ‘Garambicha Baapu’ by S. N. Pendse. Across the river bridge, lies a small road that ascends to the Keshavraj Temple.

Good ancient temple, but not good for aged people

It's located very close to Dapoli city center. You can get your car to certain location, then walk down to the temple through few konkan styled houses and feel the oxygen. If you are visiting post September, you will love the walk to this place, which is covered on both sides with approximately 6500 nos. of betel nut (hindi: supari) trees. #Stairs are little hard to climb for aged people and specially people who are having knee problems. #Do carry water bottle, since it will be required. #Attractive spot to visit, specially the way water comes down from the root of Mango tree and runs out of the cow's mouth. Very primitive.
