दुर्गा मंदिर, मुरुड
चौदाव्या-पंधराव्या शतकात सौराष्ट्राहून (विशालनगरहून) एक सिद्धपुरुष मुरुड येथे आला, त्याने सर्व जमातींना स्थान देऊन वसाहत निर्माण केली. सर्व लोक एकोप्याने नांदत असल्यामुळे गावाला भरभराटी आली, या भरभराटीच्या काळात देवालय स्थापन होऊ लागली, सदर दुर्गा मंदिर हे त्याच काळात स्थापन झाले. पुढे कालांतराने देशोदेशी फिरून मुरुडला परत आलेले ग्रामस्थ येताना एक नवीन दृष्टी आणि सामर्थ्य घेऊन आले. त्यांनी देऊळ नवीन करायचे ठरवले. सतत तीन वर्ष बांधकाम चालले आणि १७६३ मध्ये मंदिर उभे राहिले. आज आपण दुर्गादेवीचे देऊळ पाहतो ते हेच. इतके सुंदर मंदिर त्या पट्ट्यात दुसरे आढळत नाही.
Durga Devi Mandir , Murud
During the 14th – 15th century, a seer came from Saurashtra (Vishalnagar). He established a settlement which comprised of people from all castes and sects. The village was formed by intellectuals and hardworking classes. The village flourished as the villagers lived in harmony. During this era of prosperity, there rised a need for a religious place and hence the Durga Devi mandir was built during this very era. There is no other temple in this region that can compare with the beauty of the Durga temple.

Very old temple. Visit the 'Swayambhu (naturally created idol)" temple right next to this one. There is also a Ganesha temple next to the Devi temple.

It is situated near Murid Beach which is famous for water activities and dolphins. I have only heard of dolphin sighting but never experienced, some resorts arrange for boats for dolphin sighting.
