सेंट अॅने चर्च
दापोली तालुक्यातील तीन जुन्या चर्चपैकी सर्वात जुने चर्च म्हणजे हर्णे येथील ‘सेंट अॅने चर्च’. हे साधारणता ३०० वर्ष जुने आहे. मराठा- पेशवा राजवटीत सुवर्णदुर्ग किल्ल्याच्या डागडूजीसाठी गोव्याहून जे पोर्तुगीज इंजिनीयर्स आले त्यांनी हे चर्च बांधले. तर काहींच्या मते गोवा, फत्तेगड व कनकदुर्ग या किल्ल्याची उभारणी शाहू महाराजांनी करायचे ठरविले तेव्हा गोव्याहून जे पोर्तुगीज इजिनिअर्स बोलावले, त्यानी हे चर्च बांधले. या चर्चचा उल्लेख पूर्वी फिरंगी चर्च म्हणून केला जायचा.
About Saint Anne Church
Dapoli has 3 old churches, of which the oldest is the Church of Saint Anne at Harnai. There is no proper proof of the origin of this church, but it is said that during the era of the Maratha – Peshwa empire, few Portuguese engineers came from Goa for the repair works of the Suvarnadurga Fort and built this church. Some other stories say that the great Shahu Maharaj decided to build the forts of Gova, Fatehgad and Kanakadurga and he invited Portuguese engineers from Goa who built this church. Previously, this church was called as Firangi Church among the locals, but there are old records of this church named as Saint Anne by the Sea Church.
